On June 11, MCM will be hosting Sensory Saturday for children in the autism spectrum or with sensory processing disorders and their families. The museum will be closed to the public to prevent big crowds. The lighting and sound systems will also be modified to consider the needs of the children. From 9:00 am to 11:00 am, the children can enjoy sensory friendly stage performances. They can also join special art activities like yoga, black light painting, clay creations, art and music therapy and a lot more! “Cool down” rooms are prepared for the children if they need a place to relax. There will be community professionals that parents can interact with at the event.
The admission for this special activity is limited and pre-registration is a must. To RSVP, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (305)-373-5437 ext 126. The Miami Children’s Museum is located at 980 Mac Arthur Causeway Miami, FL. For more information you can visit their website at http://www.miamichildrensmuseum.org
